Job Title: Senior Tax Manager / Director

Overview:
We're seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior Tax Manager / Director to join our team. This individual will work closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, business entities, and trusts, providing comprehensive tax and financial oversight. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who understands every aspect of an efficient and effective tax office-from planning and compliance to staff management and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee preparation and review of complex tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate, and trust returns
Provide strategic tax planning and consulting to high-net-worth clients and their related entities
Review and analyze financial statements; ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Maintain full knowledge of accounting workflows, financial operations, and QuickBooks (desktop and online)
Supervise and mentor staff accountants and junior team members; foster a culture of growth and accountability
Handle client communications with professionalism, clarity, and efficiency
Step in and prepare returns when needed; lead by example during peak seasons
Manage workflow and ensure timely completion of all filings and deliverables
Collaborate with firm leadership on client strategies, internal improvements, and staff development
Keep current on tax law changes, industry trends, and compliance updates

Qualifications:

CPA license required
Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
Deep knowledge of high-net-worth taxation, trusts, partnerships, and closely held businesses
Expertise in QuickBooks Desktop and Online, as well as tax software (e.g., Lacerte, CCH, etc.)
Strong technical accounting background and the ability to review and analyze financials
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Proven leadership and managerial capabilities
Skilled in training, reviewing, and mentoring staff
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Comfortable stepping in to prepare returns and support staff as needed
