We are now seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing all facets of construction for Single Family Preservation, from project conception to successful project completion.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree in related field which may be supplemented with experience.
3-5+ years of experience in Single-Family rehabilitation, Single-Family remodeling, Single-Family new construction, affordable housing.
OSHA 10 certified or willingness/ability to obtain certification.
Ability to manage a high volume of home repair and rehabilitation projects across multiple programs.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and associated tools, and ability to learn new construction software.
What you will be doing:
This position will work closely with other SFP staffers and oversee third-party contractors and trades in a variety of programs and be responsible for administering home repair and acquisition rehabilitation projects through the construction period, punch list completion and project closeout. This includes managing the project budget, timeline, and compliance with funding requirements.
You will regularly review construction documents to ensure compliance with building program requirements and perform field/safety inspections and ensure onsite compliance with OSHA standards. When procuring necessary project permits, including coordination with local municipality staff and politicians, you will exercise your strong negotiating skills and proven political acumen, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism at all times.
You will pay close attention to detail in providing solutions to problems as they arise, and you will provide leadership on new project types, ensuring consistent successful construction close-out and coordinated turnover of property. You will ensure that all product warranties and installation warranties are properly retained and passed on to the clientele as needed, and at all times facilitate positive relationships with other departments and outside agencies to ensure successful project completion.
