A leading Contractor in California currently working on a $2B WWTP project is looking to bring on a strong Estimator to the team in Oakland!

We specialize in complex industrial projects that include water and wastewater treatment plants, power generation facilities, and other complex industrial facilities. We generally self-perform all civil, structural, metal fabrication and installation, equipment erection, mechanical piping work, HVAC and odor control services. We manage hundreds of trade subcontractors on projects who provide specialty services. As a union contractor, Monterey Mechanical has labor agreements with most of the general and specialty trades. Our reputation for delivering quality projects on time and within budget is well established. Size, experience, dependable quality and financial stability have made us one of the most versatile and respected contractors in industrial construction.

What you need:

Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in engineering or related field
Knowledge of industrial piping systems, materials, and installation techniques;
Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, including pump stations and related process equipment.
Ability to accurately compute costs in a timely way using a computerized database.
Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts that include but are not limited to interest,

percentages, basic algebra and geometry.

Prepare estimates for mechanical work related to piping, processing, installation, and/or other mechanical work
Visit work site to determine if existing conditions would affect the scope of work.
Performs quantity take off and pricing for mechanical work on bid projects: site work that could.
Handle estimate issues with design engineers.
Coordinates w/ subcontractors to review and/or discuss scope
Draft subcontracts for new projects.

Prepare and review estimated budget costs.
