Principal Software Engineer - REMOTE

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead our data engineering initiatives, designing and implementing robust data pipelines and architectures. This role is critical in ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance, while driving the evolution of our data infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and manage Kafka-based data pipelines for real-time streaming in an AWS environment.
Architect and optimize modern AWS-based data systems that integrate disparate services and turn data into actionable insights.
Collaborate with AI and machine learning teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration across the platform.
Oversee data governance, security, and compliance within the cloud infrastructure.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in designing scalable technical solutions.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in software development and data engineering, with a strong focus on AWS and modern data architecture.
Expertise in Java development is a must, along with experience managing Kafka-based pipelines in cloud environments.
Strong background in microservices architecture, API-first strategies, and building resilient, scalable systems.
Proven experience in data pipeline architecture and systems integration using AWS services.
Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure and big data technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead projects, manage stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across teams..
