Position: Legal Assistant

Location: Englewood, Colorado

Position Overview:

The Legal Assistant will support attorneys, paralegals and marketing team members within the Construction Defect Department; will have direct communication with clients to collect claim-related data; will set-up and assist with the maintenance of large electronic and paper files; will schedule depositions, meetings, and hearings; and will assist in the preparation of depositions, hearings and trials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents; including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal correspondence
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
• Maintain organized and up-to-date case files
• Coordinate and schedule meetings and court appearances for attorneys
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal cases
• Prepare and file legal documents with courts and other agencies
• Review and summarize legal documents and contracts
• Perform administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, managing emails, and scheduling appointments
• Assist with trial preparation and attend trials as needed

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, OR recent juris doctorate grad looking for legal exposure
• Knowledge of construction defect law preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Able to work in office in Englewood Colorado
