Tax Compliance: Lead preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts. Ensure accuracy, compliance with tax laws, timely submission.
Tax Planning and Consulting: Develop tax strategies aligned with clients' financial objectives, mitigate tax liabilities, maximize tax savings. Provide proactive advice on tax matters (entity structuring, mergers/acquisitions, international taxation.)
Research and Analysis: Stay current with tax laws, regulations, rulings to provide informed guidance to clients and internal stakeholders. Conduct thorough research and analysis on tax issues to address client inquiries, support decision-making processes.
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships by serving as trusted advisor on tax-related matters. Understand unique needs, objectives, challenges to deliver tailored solutions and exceptional client service.
Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and coach junior staff members, provide guidance on technical matters, professional development, best practices in tax compliance and consulting. Encourage a collaborative and supportive environment..
Quality Control and Risk Management: Implement and uphold rigorous quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of tax engagements. Identify and mitigate potential risks, compliance issues, and ethical concerns in accordance with professional standards and firm policies.
What You Need for this Position:
- BS in Accounting or similar, 2+ years in Tax Compliance in Public Accounting/professional services firm, 3+ years for Supervisor, 4+ years for Manager
- Proficiency in tax software: ProSystem fx Tax, Thomson Reuters UltraTax, and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- CPA strongly preferred, or on a path to licensure
