Position Overview:
Founded in 1988, we are a premier heavy civil general contractor and construction management firm based in Oregon. We are recognized as one of the region's most advanced contractors in earth-moving, road-building, and underground utilities. We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a background in Heavy Civil projects to join our team. Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for various civil construction projects, including site work, highways, utilities, and airports.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify scope and requirements.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating.
Utilize cost databases, historical data, and market trends to inform estimates.
Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather relevant data.
Maintain and update estimating databases and templates to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
Monitor project costs and adjust estimates as necessary during the project lifecycle.
Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of three years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in heavy civil projects.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools, as well as Microsoft Excel and project management software.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
