Role Overview:
We are looking for an Controls Specialist with expertise in the design, modeling, installation, and commissioning of Low, Medium, and High Voltage equipment. The role supports Power Generation and Oil & Gas projects globally, with a focus on:
- Generator Protection & Control System Design
- Generator Excitation System Design
- Electrical System Modeling and Protection Studies
- Medium Voltage Switchgear
- System Installation, Testing, and Commissioning
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure project design meets all customer requirements.
- Create, review, and approve technical drawings and system diagrams.
- Generate project Bill of Materials, including component selection.
- Conduct electrical systems analysis such as Short Circuit Analysis and Arc Flash Studies.
- Model turbine/generator systems and troubleshoot electrical control and protection systems.
- Provide site services, including installation supervision and testing.
- Ensure project completion according to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and support proposal development.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with power generation control and protection equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), with a focus on Power System Design.
- Experience with power system modeling software, protection relay testing, and commissioning of protection/excitation systems.
- Knowledge of platforms like ETAP and hardware such as Basler DECS and Schweitzer relays.
- Willingness to travel (30-50%).
- IEEE membership preferred.
