Accounting Manager

Position Overview:

We are in need of an Accounting Manager who will be an integral part of our Accounting department. The Accounting Manager will work directly with our Controller and CFO to aide in financial reporting and technical accounting projects. As well, they will oversee day-to-day operations of 6 accounting employees to ensure timely and quality processes within full-cycle accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have a mix of public accounting and construction accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the company's accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Develop and maintain financial models to analyze and forecast company performance
• Create and manage annual operating budgets and monitor variances
• Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting regulations
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals
• Coordinate with external auditors to complete annual audits
• Implement and maintain project management processes to track financial performance of construction projects
• Work with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve accounting processes and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting and/or construction accounting (with 2+ years in a managerial role)
• CPA certification is preferred but not needed
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting processes
• Experience with JD Edwards, Microsoft Excel, AIA billing, certified payroll, and job costing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Experience with project management processes is a plus
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and other accounting regulations
• Experience with internal audit is preferred
